Statement of Fundamental
Truths
The Bible is our all-sufficient
rule for faith and practice. This Statement of Fundamental
Truths is intended simply as a basic of fellowship among us
(i.e. that we all speak the same thing, 1 Corinthians 1:10; Acts
2:42). The phraseology employed in this Statement is not
inspired or contended for, but the truth set forth is held to be
essential to a full-gospel ministry. No claim is made that it
contains all Biblical truth, only that it covers our need as to
these fundamental doctrines.
-
We Believe The Holy Bible,
consisting of both Old and New Testaments, is the inspired
revelation of God to man. Therefore, the Scriptures are the
infallible, authoritative rule for all matters of faith and
conduct. (II Timothy 3:15-17; I Thessalonians 2:13; II
Peter 1:21)
-
We Believe The One True God,
who is eternally self-existent, is the Creator of heaven and
earth and the Redeemer of mankind. Almighty God is
omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent. God exists
eternally in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit who
possesses all the attributes of God and are the One True
God. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10-11)
-
We
Believe in The Deity of Jesus Christ
who was the Son of God (Luke 3:22) or God manifest in the
flesh. The Scriptures declare:
(a) His virgin birth (Matthew 1:23; Luke
1:31,35)
(b) His sinless life (Hebrews 7:26; I Peter
2:22)
(c) His miracles (Acts 2:22; 10:38)
(d) His redemptive work (I Corinthians
15:3; II Corinthians 5:21)
(e) His bodily resurrection (Matthew 28:6;
Luke 24:39; I Corinthians 15:4)
(f) His exaltation to the right hand of God
(Acts 1:9, 11; 2:33; Phil. 2:9-11; Heb. 1:3)
-
We Believe in The Spiritual New Birth
of
repentant sinners who, having faith in the Lord Jesus Christ
and His resurrection, receive the regenerative work of the
Holy Spirit. This experience, provided by the vicarious
death and redemptive work of the blood of Jesus Christ,
brings a person into a personal relationship with the Lord
Jesus Christ. (John 3:3-8; Romans 3:24-25; 10:9-13)
-
We Believe The Holy Spirit is the Third
Person in the Godhead and that He indwells everyone who
calls on the Name of Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
(Romans 8:9-11; 15; 1 Corinthians 12:3)
The Holy
Spirit is the Anointing ( 1 John 2:20,27) that is promised
to all believers in Christ, imparting to them spiritual
gifts (charisma), (Romans 12:4-8) to edify the Body of
Christ and to equip for Christian service. (Luke 24:49;
Acts 1:4-8; I Corinthians 12:12-31)
The Holy Spirit daily in fills
believers as they seek the Lord and yield to Him resulting
in the fruit of the Spirit which is Christ likeness.
(Ephesians 5:18-21; Galatians 5:22-24)
The Holy Spirit Baptism,
as experienced in the early Christian Church is promised to
all believers. This experience is distinct from and
subsequent to the new birth and enables the believer to
receive a spiritual language (glossalalia) for personal
edification and prayer. This language in a believer is the
initial physical evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.
(Acts 2:4; 8:12-17; 10:44-46; 11:14-16; 15:7-9; 19:6; 1
Corinthians 14:2-5, 14-15, 39-40) The Baptism in the Holy
Spirit opens a believer to the manifestation of the Holy
Spirit. (1 Corinthians 12:7-11)
-
We Believe The Church of Jesus Christ
is
the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine
appointments for the fulfillment of the Great Commission.
Each believer, having been born of the Spirit, is a valuable
part of the Body of Christ. We further believe in a called
and ordained five-fold ministry for the purpose of the
evangelization of the world and the edifying of the Body of
Christ. (Mark 16:15-20; Ephesians 4:11-13)
-
We Believe in The Second Coming of Christ
to
receive the Church unto Himself and to rule and reign
forever. The return of Jesus Christ is imminent and will
precede His reign upon the earth and the final judgments.
Afterward there will be a New Heaven and New Earth. (John
14:1-3; I Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 11:15; 20:12-13;
21:1)
